Proper care and maintenance keeps your car running in its best possible condition. Here are some super tips to extend the life of your vehicle!
Take it easy during break in. You now have the car or truck you have dreamed about and you want to keep it in perfect shape for as long as possible.
Put these tips in the back of your mind as you pull off the dealership lot:
"Break in" for your new car is the first 1,600 km, so during this this period do not exceed approximately 90 kilometers per hour or do not go over the speed limit recommended by the builder.
Don't tow anything during the first 1,600 kms
Avoid long idling periods. Why? Because the oil pressure is lower during idle and may not be sending oil to every part of your engine. And the engine is especially tight when new.
Avoid hard acceleration for the first 1,600, and keep rpms below 2,500 to 3,000 for the first few hours of driving!
